Welcome back to my blog! For a few weeks now our hub has been working on small businesses. These involve coming up with an idea, making business cards, making an advert, making a presentation. I have enjoyed this a lot! Because we get to use our brain to come up with anything we want. We could do a food item, Gap filler or just anything that you could show as a model.

I chose to make a business called Elegant Brownie! This is a brownie made with white chocolate and icing sugar on the top! We have to present our items next Wednesday. I have mixed feelings about this. Because next Wednesday isn't that far away and we have to show our items and explain what it is, what it does, and how much we want to sell it for.

This is a big step up we do speeches and stuff like that but now we are doing something even bigger! When I said we have to present it I mean in front of our whole literacy group! My presentation isn't quite finished yet but I am still going to work on it.   

Summer learning journey - teaser activity

As all of you will know we are near the end of the year and school is nearly over! I have started the summer learning journey program today! And I did the teaser activity this involved going onto a site called art colouring book it is an online thing and is very fun! I personally enjoyed it because I was having fun at the same time as learning how to use this new site. 

On the art colouring book, there were quite a few pictures to choose from. I chose to do a picture of watermelons and a background. I also did the NASA version too. I love getting to pick colours for the pictures. I suggest if you have not already registered you should do it now! Because you are not only having fun but also learning! Patterns and relationships!

For maths, we have been working on a slide all about patterns and relationships! I have found this a bit challenging at times but other than that it really gets you thinking hard and smartly. Patterns are very cool things in math! I love patterns because they may be math but they are also a figure of art! The slide we have been working on is quite interesting but it's also a bit boring at times because it gets quite hard other than that I have Really enjoyed patterns and relationships in maths. Do you know what the Fibonacci sequence is? Because it is nature art and math. Down below is the slide we have been working on.   

 

📗Brilliant book study!📗

For literacy, we have been focusing on something called book study! The four books you could choose from were Danny the champion of the world, Fing, Gangsta Granny and Wonder. I choose Danny the champion of the world! So far I am really enjoying the book! One of the best parts is when Danny's Dad falls in a hole that a keeper dug and broke his ankle. Danny the champion of the world is a very interesting book! I am currently up to chapter 21. We also have a booklet we have to fill out once we have read a certain amount of chapters at a time. 😺Surprising scratch! 😺

For cyber smart, we used a website called scratch. It is very fun but it is a little bit hard if you are new but there are tutorials that can help you to make AMAZING things!  I make a jumping game There is a crab and balls and You are under the sea and the aim of the game is to jump over ALL the balls without getting hit. You get 10 points every time you jump over a ball and don't hit one. I really enjoyed making this because it was a bit challenging but other than that is was epic! You should certainly give scratch a go some time! Because honestly, it is probably the easiest coding site once you have gotten use to it. Spectacular speech

For home learning, we have been working on speeches we got to choose a topic to write our speech on it could be a persuasive speech explanation speech! Crazy cultural Slides!

Last Friday we did culture diversity day You could either dress up in a cultural dress or just wear mufti! We also have been working on cultural slides! I have really enjoyed working on it! Super Transformations

For Maths we have been focusing on transformation. We had to make a copy of the slide then start working on it. The first two slides were warm-ups. Then we actually got started on the transformation slide! I have really enjoyed working on it because It is very fun and exciting! For our language learning, we have been learning about Maori words! I have really enjoyed learning about Te Reo Maori. For our task, we had to make an animation about words in Maori, so that is what I have done with my friend Emily. For maths, we have been learning about coordinates. So we have three options I choose to do Shark Island! I have really enjoyed making Shark Island because I got to learn while having fun!! Every day for Literacy we have been doing a quick write we get 10 minutes. We have been using  Figurative language. Our Figurative language for this week was Idimon's. Mad Mathematician

Hi bloggers, 

For my maths we have been learning Area. In other words how to measure the inside of a shape. We did a screencastify and task cards. In my slide, you will either learn how to measure the area of a shape or find out something you did not know about Area. This slide took me a week to do because when I went to do my screencastify it was either too loud or I did wrong. But now that I have completed it I think it is amazing! What do you enjoy about Area? Hi bloggers, Today was pink shirt day that means you could wear anything pink and you had to bring in a gold coin donation. Most people did wear pink just the odd few didn't ( which is perfectly ok) anyways maybe the next pink shirt day you could buy a pink shirt and wear it! The reason pink shirt day even exists is because two students from a school in Canada were bullied for wearing pink. Mysterious Maths

 Hi bloggers, for our maths sessions we have been learning about measurement. We did a screencastify about how to use a ruler properly I found it quite fun and interesting because I never realised that I used to always start at the start of the ruler, not the 0! What do you know about measurements? Tell me in the comments.

   

Exciting Aladdin work

 Salaam bloggers, for a few weeks we have been working on the production people would go off with the teacher and practise their parts while everyone else would work on their slides. I chose to do the pixel version of Jasmine!  I had to restart twice but now it looks really cool!  who's your favourite and least favourite character from Aladdin and why?  Here it is.
    

The Art of Reading

 Hello blogger, for my literacy we have been working on a task about the book Lorax it was fun and a little bit hard we had to listen to the story then we had to decide if we wanted to do a wanted poster or a Letter from the Lorax then we also ha to decided if we were going to do an advertisement or a letter from the Once-ler! the reason the Lorax was mad with the Once-ler is that the Once-ler cut down all the trees! for his thneeds!! Do you think it was wrong for the Once-ler to cut down all trees???

 Kia ora blogger, Today for maths we have been learning about number patterns they can be quite tricky like when you do times 3 every time but subtract 2 as well. I really enjoy this because it challenges me to think instead of just knowing it! have you ever done a number pattern??

 Hi bloggers, Today for literacy we have been focusing on how we can stop littering and plotting the earth we came up with lots of ideas 
( don't put any plastic in your lunch box,make bee wax cloths instead of using plastic,clean streams and rivers or even just your neighbourhood!) we came up with lots more but this is just an idea. Did you know plastic takes About 1,00 years to break down.
